{"id":731,"date":"2017-03-31T14:59:35","date_gmt":"2017-03-31T14:59:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kasparovchessfoundation.org\/?p=731"},"modified":"2017-04-14T16:30:39","modified_gmt":"2017-04-14T16:30:39","slug":"731","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kasparovchessfoundation.org\/?p=731","title":{"rendered":"KCF Education in Asia"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>KASPAROV CHESS IN EDUCATION IN ASIA<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0by Peter Long<\/div>\n<p>In conjunction with the Kasparov Chess Foundation&#8217;s 15th Aniversary Celebrations, the Kasparov Chess Foundation Asia-Pacific undertook the\u00a0organization of five events in five Asian countries for the promotion of Chess in Education to be done in partnership with National Chess Federations and their respective\u00a0Ministries of Education (or Education Departments).<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Michael Khodarkovsky, FIDE Senior Trainer, and the captain and coach of numerous USA national teams, and who is also President ofthe Kasparov Chess Foundation, agreed to be the principal speaker in the Chess in Education seminars and workshops.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>On 22 March,\u00a0Khodarkovsky\u00a0kicked off a four-country\u00a0visit, starting with Guam and on 25 March landed in Manila where he was met by Ignatius Leong, Director of Kasparov Chess Foundation Asia-Pacific and Red Dumuk, Executive Director of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) together with his predecessor Grandmaster Jayson Gonzales and Project Manager Peter Long.<a href=\"https:\/\/kasparovchessfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Guam_handshake.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-764\" src=\"https:\/\/kasparovchessfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Guam_handshake.jpg\" alt=\"Guam_handshake\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kasparovchessfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Guam_handshake.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/kasparovchessfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/Guam_handshake-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Michael Khodarkovsky with Lt. Both officials and staff of\u00a0the NCFP were present to help make the event a success and yet, due to space constraints, more than 200 entries could not be accepted!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><a
