Greater Chicago and Greater Mid-Atlantic to Follow<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nearly 1,000 K \u2013 12 Students Across Greater New York Competed, And All Are Winners.<\/b><\/p>\n

New York, NY, Jan. 18, 2014 \u2014 <\/b>Kasparov Chess Foundation held its 2014 Greater New York Scholastic Championships this past Sunday and scored a checkmate in terms of attendance with nearly 1,000 students competing. The Foundation organized and sponsored the tournament in association with local chess organization Chess Center of New York and Little House of Chess.<\/p>\n

In total, 991 players from more than 190 schools, across five states, including NY, NJ, CT, PA, and DE were represented at the tournament.\u00a0 Special thanks goes to NTDs Sophia Rohde and Steve Immitt for directing the tournament, and to Nils Grotnes for his technical support and tournament website development (tournament site: www.gnyscc.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n
