The<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>event\u00a0held on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/home.tornelo.com\/\">Tornelo<\/a>\u00a0online platform,\u00a0comprised five different age groups (U10, U12, U14, U16, and U18) with participants competing in two sections: girls and open.<\/p>\n<p>1,380 young chess players from 114 different countries are took part in this world event which started back in November with the regional qualifiers.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Young Stars Program, the cooperation by the Kasparov Chess Foundation and the Saint Louis Chess Club to promote and foment talent across the country, have had incredible results in this important event:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Carissa Yip (Girls U18): Gold Medal<\/li>\n<li>Alice Lee (Girls U12): Gold Medal<\/li>\n<li>Christopher Yoo (Open U14): Bronze Medal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In total Team USA accumulated 8 medals, twice more than the nearest country!<\/p>\n<p>A heartfelt congratulations to all the winners, certainly an auspicious event for the future of American chess.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The final knockout stage of the FIDE World Cadets &amp; Youth Rapid Championships came to the\u00a0end on December 22.
