-- The highest-rated chess player of all time, Garry Kasparov, is taking center stage in a 40 board simultaneous exhibition at the upcoming All-Girls National Chess Championships to be held in Chicago on March 17 - 19, 2006. The multi-board spectacle, to take place on Friday, March 17th at 7:00 PM in Chicago's Palmer House Hilton Hotel, kicks off the weekend-long All-Girls open tournament, among the largest female chess competitions in the country.
Mr. Kasparov will go head-to-head with individual champions from the previous two championships. Following is the list of 2004 and 2005 Champions seeded on the simul:

The remaining seats will be filled by participants of this year's Annual All Girls Nationals chosen via lottery to be held on Fri., March 17th at 6:00 PM at the Adams Ballroom at Palmer House Hilton Hotel.
The Kasparov Chess Foundation founded the All Girls National Championships in 2004, and serves as its title sponsor and lead organizer. Following the exhibition, Garry Kasparov will be on-hand throughout the weekend-long competition, signing autographs, offering photo opportunities and providing inspiration to hundreds of young female players and their families who will gather for the event.
The All Girls National Championships, sanctioned by the United States Chess Federation (USCF) and presented in association with Chicago-based Chess Wizards, welcomes girls from public, private and home-schools across the following age categories: 8 years old and younger; 10 years old and younger; 12 years old and younger; 14 years old and younger; 16 years old and younger; 18 years old and younger.
The competition is now accepting entry applications for participants. Entry fee: $45 through March 1st; $65 thereafter, or on-site on Fri., March 17. All participants are required to be members of the US Chess Federation (USCF), www.uschess.org. Applicants can either register online by visiting www.chesswizards.com, or via mail.
