It provides an ideal backdrop from which students can learn, have fun, compete -- all while raising their self-esteem and motivation.
Pointing to the value of chess in a balanced curriculum, World Chess Champion Garry Kasparov explains, "Now, more than ever, we need to involve our young women in extra-curricular activities that will help them compete on equal ground."
"It is our belief that the lessons they learn in chess will be applied throughout their lives, helping them achieve proficiency in math and sciences, as well as in raising self-esteem, teaching determination, self-motivation and sportsmanship," Kasparov added.
