Congratulations to GM Bjerre!

A great success story coming out of the strongest Swiss tournament in chess history: Jonas Buhl Bjerre, part of the Young Stars program of the Kasparov Chess Foundation, achieved the final requirements to claim the title of grandmaster at the tender age of 15! This makes him the youngest Danish GM ever.Hard work pays off! Here Jonas is solving a difficult king and pawn endgame in a Young Stars camp led by Garry Kasparov himself in Zagreb earlier this year. Jonas’ path to his title was incredibly tough: his weakest opponent in the entire tournament had a rating of 2636! With a final performance rating of 2662, he exceeded the requirements for his last GM-norm with a round to spare:
